#PHEIRLxPSHSCALABARZON
The Pathogen-Host-Environment Interactions Research Laboratory (PHEIRL) welcomed the ten summer interns from the Philippines Science High School (PSHS) – CALABARZON Campus hosted by the Department of Science & Technology (DOST) – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) last July 12, 2022, accompanied by Ms. Judy Ann Paunil, Dr. Aimee Yvonne Aman, and Dr. Christian Adam Espiritu.
PHEIRL conducted an on-site lecture about microbial detection in clinical and environmental samples as well as the ongoing research projects of the laboratory, led by Ms. Laurice Beatrice Raphaelle O. de la Peña and Ms. Marjo V. Mendoza. In addition, a laboratory tour was conducted to showcase commonly used equipment and tools to introduce the summer interns to an actual research setting.
